Dr. Keenan from New Brunswick, Canada, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science from McGill University. She completed her medical degree at Memorial University of Newfoundland, followed by a Family Practice Residency at Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario. Dr. Keenan has extensive experience as an emergency and family physician as well as treating people with diabetes, obesity and chronic disease. She worked in Bermuda previously as an emergency physician at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital (KEMH), a locum at the Family Practice, and as a Medical Officer at the Department of Health.
After 20 years in frontline medicine Dr. Keenan sees the need for prevention as the key to health and longevity. She has returned to Bermuda to practice personalized lifestyle (functional) medicine. Nutrition, gut health, functional genomics, and mind body awareness are the key elements of her practice. She works with patients to find the root cause of disease in their body and develops a personalised health care treatment programme.
